As you may know Mr Joe Boyd retired, as Head Teacher, at Christmas. What has he been up to? Well he has not been sitting on his laurels! He has actually been working for the Somaliland government (where? - click here) developing a curriculum for the whole country. P6/7 Olympic Games Wednesday 18th April 2012
On Wednesday the 18TH April 2012 the primary cluster came to Bathgate Academy to take part in the Olympic Games. The sun was shining, the banners were flying the only question was, who were going to bring home the medals?
The following schools/countries were represented.
Simpson PS- South Africa
Murrayfield PS- France
Blackburn PS- Australia
Balbardie PS- USA
Boghall PS- China
All of the pupils were enthuastic and had a very enjoyable day followed by a Olympic Games Lunch in the canteen.

Overall the day was a great success! A big thank you to all the staff for helping out on the day and helping out with the preparation.
A special thank you to our senior pupils for helping on the day, especially Katie Morrison and Connor Gray for helping organise the event with Graeme Young. Not forgetting the canteen staff for provided a wonderful lunch for the pupils.

Congratulations to Miss Burns
Miss Burns completed the London Marathon yesterday - wow! This is what she says:-
"Just to let you all know I completed the London Marathon yesterday.
My time was 4 hrs and 56 mins.
The amount raised so far for the charity Vision Aid Overseas is £3092.91.
Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated for the charity and all the support you have given me. It has been amazing. It is very much appreciated and it definately kept me running yesterday."
